The highly anticipated Frankfurt Motor Show—the world’s largest auto show—is held annually in order to showcase new vehicles, introduce the latest auto technology and world record attempts, and to make exciting industry announcements.

The 2016 Lamborghini Huracan Spyder LP 610-4 is the successor to the popular Gallardo Spyder. While even its competitor, the Ferrari 488 GTB Spider, is somewhat efficient with its new generation twin-turbo engine, Lamborghini has clearly decided that power comes first.

The Huracan’s Power Will Impress Pros With Auto Mechanic Training
Students enrolled in auto mechanic training programs will definitely be impressed with the Huracan’s new direct-injection 5.2-litre V10 engine, which produces 602 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the supercar can get from 0 to 62mph (100km/h) in a mere 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 201 mph (323 km/h). It’s no surprise that Lamborghini’s Huracan Spyder is considered one of the fastest open top cars on the market.
The vehicle features a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which routes power to its four wheels. Many car enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the Italian automaker has integrated cylinder deactivation under light throttle loads to help reduce fuel consumption.
The Mechanics of the Huracan’s Power-Retracting Roof are Unrivaled
The Huracan Spyder has a fabric roof, which is available in three colours—black, red and brown. Impressively, the power-retracting roof can open up at speeds of 31mph (50km/h) in only 17 seconds.
For drivers who appreciate hearing the hum of the car’s powerful engine, the glass rear window can be lowered independently from the top for better listening—although, Canadians with careers in the automotive industry would probably recommend keeping this window closed during the cold winter months!

Multiple Driving Modes: An Option for Any Mood
Four-wheel-drive comes standard in all Lamborghini Huracan Spyder models. Drivers can choose from three different driving modes. These include: Strada (road), Sport and Corsa (race), and each can be selected with the push of a button located on the vehicle’s steering wheel.
The brand-new Lamborghini will go on sale in the spring and drivers can purchase their very own for a whopping starting price of approximately £205,000. At the car’s launch in Frankfurt, Lamborghini boss Stefan Winkelmann said that the Italian automaker is hoping to “outperform its last year’s record sales figure of 2530 cars.”
