Automotive Mechanic Apprenticeships and Trades Ontario

To become a certified auto mechanic in the province of Ontario, you will need to complete auto mechanic certification (310S), defined as a person who "repairs, adjusts and replaces mechanical and electrical parts of automobiles and light trucks in a retail automotive business."

It is our experience that some of our students have experience in the industry, perhaps in their own country. Depending on your experience, your path to achieve a Certificate of Qualification may take between 2 and 5 years.

Every industry is experiencing the growth of specialized employees. As an automotive mechanic, you will need to have certifications in order to open doors to more opportunities. At CATI, you will take the ODP (Ozone Depletion training and certification) as well as the Emissions Inspector (Drive Clean training and certification) during your 39 week program.

The automotive mechanic career is a career, where you are learning as well as earning. CATI’s Automotive Technology Program will provide you a leap forward in your exciting career choice of an Auto Mechanic. The program class time is structured to allow students to work while enrolled in the program.

My name is San Houi, a father of three. I had been unemployed for almost two years. I was frustrated and nervous constantly, and this always stayed deep in my heart because of my inability to find a job, no matter how hard I tried. The frustration I felt over those months was indescribable. I was disappointed with the way my life was going, until the day I enrolled at CATI, and embarked on a second career.

Jan 25th 2010 was my first day at CATI. I had no clue how hard the program would be (and it was hard - I had no auto mechanic background) but I made a commitment to myself that I would dedicate myself to the program. This was my first step towards a more secure future, and with the help from CATI and my instructors (Marty and Graham Steven) I'm now a proud glad graduate, and an auto service technician. Currently, I am working at a Toyota dealership, climbing the ladder and dedicating to maintaining CATI's reputation. I owe everything to CATI. Thank you so much.
