auto mechanic training in Ontario

As any auto enthusiast knows, December marks an important tradition: listing all the cool cars and trucks we can look forward to in the year ahead! With 2019, we’re in for a lot of treats, from the first Jeep pickup since 1992 to Porsche’s bold entry into the electric vehicle market. Plus, we may finally get our first glimpse of the revived Ford Bronco.

So without further delay, here are four vehicles coming in 2019 that will get anybody considering automotive training super excited.

1. Truck Fans in Automotive Training Will Finally Get to See the Ford Bronco… Maybe

Ford has been teasing us about a revived Ford Bronco since 2016, but hasn’t exactly been forthcoming about the details. What we do know is that the new Bronco will be a mid-size 4×4 SUV built at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant, which was where the original Bronco was built from 1966 to 1996. While most truck enthusiasts were convinced that we’d finally get a glimpse of the Bronco in 2019, Ford is now only coyly promising that the Bronco is coming in 2020. That could mean it’ll debut in 2020 as a 2021 model year or it could debut in 2019 as a 2020 model year. Fingers crossed it’s the latter!

2. Jeep Will at Long Last Get Back Into the Pickup Game with the 2020 Jeep Gladiator

The last time Jeep made a pickup was in 1992 with the Comanche. Thankfully, that’s changing in 2019 after Jeep unveiled the 2020 Jeep Gladiator at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Despite the revived nameplate, this new version doesn’t have much in common with the original Gladiator beyond being a pickup. Instead, the 2020 Gladiator will be a Wrangler combined with a pickup—which is a combination that few auto enthusiasts considering mechanic training schools will have complaints about. Jeep has confirmed this midsize pickup will hit showrooms in 2019.

3. Porsche Will Make a Bold Statement With Its First Electric Vehicle, The Taycan

Electric vehicles (EV) have come a long way in recent years, but certainly the most exciting EV to debut in 2019 will be the Porsche Taycan. The Taycan will be Porsche’s first EV and it will boast the engineering and design that has made the German automaker famous. With two electric motors capable of 600 hp, the Taycan can go 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds. It’ll have a range of almost 500 km and, perhaps most impressively, it can achieve 80% recharge in just 15 minutes.

4. Rolls Royce Enters the SUV Market Without Abandoning its Principles… or Price Tag

There was a time when luxury car makers wouldn’t be caught dead looking at an SUV, let alone making one. Well, times have changed, with Porsche, Jaguar, Lamborghini, and Bentyaga all getting into the luxury-SUV market. Now Rolls Royce is set to join this increasingly crowded club with the Cullinan. The Cullinan—named for the largest diamond ever found (because this is Rolls Royce, after all)—features an all-aluminum body, genuine off-road capabilities, and gorgeous leather interior. It also boasts a twin-turbocharged V12 engine that anybody in automotive training would surely dream of working on. If all that sounds too good to resist, then start filling your piggy bank: the base model starts at a cool $325,000 US (almost $439,000 CAD).
